A quick question on making a quilt?
Ok, so i want to make my sister a quilt for her bed and its going to be 80 inches wide. The fabrics at the fabric store are 45 inches wide. So what do I do for the back? just sew two pieces together to make it 80″ wide?
and do you do the same for the batting? just put two pieces together to make it the right width?
u can actually get a flat bed sheet about a 160-200 thread count and use it for the backing or u can sew 2 45 inch peices of material together, for the batting u can find batting that is either full queen or king size batting …. u can use the smaller size batting and lay it on the backing and whip stitch it to the back till u get the quilt finished but its easier to get the proper size for the batting
