We have a metallic silver coloured micro fibre sofa.How can I clean it?will the texure change if I use water?

my four year old and two year old have spilt food,crumbs and water on it.there are no MAJOR stains but generally it looks a lttledirty now.

i was told that stains and spills wipe right off with a damp cloth
