Why don’t people on welfare or public housing ever write any thank you letters to taxpayers?

The suggestion of subservience is rather sanctimonious or perhaps even arrogant, in my opinion. When one drives upon a highway, summons a police officer, passes over a bridge, or benefits from the low cost of a stamp at the U.S. Post Office, all socialist systems supported by taxpayers, is not the mere use of these shared gifts a testiment to their value? Lives made bearable with the help of unknown others have a radiance and reverence all their own that is so much more beautiful than a tiny written thank you could ever be, would you not agree? And those who choose to quietly share without thought of “What’s in this for me?” and without fanfare or fame often emanate an aura of glowing grace and glory far more exquisite than anything derived from receiving a miniscule finite inexpressive surface-level (perhaps insincere) written thank you. Taxpayers fund our military, our parks, our public schools and colleges, our VA medical system, our transportation services, our Medicare and Medicaid, and we have faith that these wonderful systems are here for us when needed. Our nation has freedoms and beauties no other nation has and we MISS those freedoms and those beauties whenever we travel to other lands, realizing we may have been taking our many blessings for granted and always ALWAYS we are so very glad to come home…is this not thank you enough?
